Our History
In 1984, after completing his studies in surveying, Thierry de Monie decided to start a company, which he named Geotra. “Geo” refers to “surveyor” and ‘Tra’ to “transport,” because at the time he didn’t yet know which field he was truly drawn to.
Before long, his friends and family called on him to come help move furniture using his first truck. After just a few months, the order book began to fill up thanks to word of mouth, and Thierry assembled a team of professional movers; the moving company Geotra was launched.
Today, the company’s reputation is well established, but it must be sustained… It was in 2024—40 years later—that his son Thibault, born the year the company was founded, decided to take up the torch to write a new chapter in the history of this company, which had become a family legacy.
